Cleaning estimate template

A cleaning estimate should state the home or office size, the tasks in each room, how often you will clean, the price per visit, add-ons such as inside the oven, supplies, exclusions and how long the quote holds.

What goes into a cleaning estimate

Cleaning clients want to know two things before they book: what gets cleaned and what each visit costs. Spell out the rooms, the tasks and the frequency, because 'clean the house' means something different to every client. A written checklist also keeps your crew consistent from visit to visit.

The example quotes a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home: a first deep clean, then weekly standard visits, with the fridge, oven and interior windows offered as add-ons. It holds the price for 30 days and asks no deposit.

Not included in this estimate

  • Moving furniture over 25 pounds or cleaning behind heavy appliances
  • Biohazards, mold or post-construction dust
  • Exterior windows and the garage
  • Laundry and dishes unless added

How to price a job as a house cleaner

  1. Quote the first clean separately

A first visit takes longer because built-up grime needs extra work. Show the deep clean as its own line and the recurring visit price beneath it, so the client is not surprised and you are not stuck doing deep cleans at standard rates.

  2. Base the price on size and condition

Square footage, bedrooms, bathrooms and pets drive your time more than anything else. Ask for them before you quote, or do a walkthrough. Note on the estimate that the price assumes the condition you saw.

  3. Turn extras into add-on lines

Inside the oven, inside the fridge, interior windows and baseboards are easy upsells when each one has a price. Clients pick the ones they want, and your crew knows exactly what was sold.

  4. Write down what you will not clean

Mold, biohazards, construction dust and heavy furniture need different gear or a different service. Listing them as exclusions protects your crew and sets expectations before the first visit.

  5. Lock in the schedule on acceptance

Once the client accepts, book the visits right away. Invoicefy turns the accepted proposal into an invoice in one click for the deep clean, and the weekly visit price can be set up as a weekly recurring invoice so billing runs on its own.

Questions people ask

Most residential clients prefer a flat price per visit because it is predictable. Per-hour pricing fits jobs you cannot size in advance, such as heavy clutter cleanups. If you quote hourly, give a range of expected hours.
