Invoicefy vs Square Invoices

Square Invoices and Invoicefy both send unlimited invoices for free, but Square charges 3.3% plus 30 cents per online card payment on its free plan, while Invoicefy passes through Stripe's standard fee with nothing added. Square is the clear winner if you also take cards in person, use Android, or want Cash App Pay and Afterpay.

Choose Square Invoices if...

Choose Square Invoices if you take payments at the counter or on the job with a card reader or Tap to Pay, or you already run your business on Square. It has iPhone and Android apps, ACH and Afterpay, and every payment lands in one Square account with your in-person sales.

Choose Invoicefy if...

Choose Invoicefy if your clients pay online and you'd like PayPal as an option, which Square doesn't list. Invoicefy Pro is $5 a month and the money goes to your own Stripe or PayPal account. You can also text the client link from your own phone number.

How to switch from Square Invoices to Invoicefy

Start with your clients and your most used line items. If Square lets you export your customer list, download it; if not, copy your regular customers by hand. Add your clients and saved items to Invoicefy, then set up your logo and payment options.

Send new invoices from Invoicefy, but let open Square invoices finish where they are, so clients don't get two bills. Once the last one is paid, download any records you want to keep and cancel your Square plan.
